When Dunkers Troll gets tired
and it's time to go to bed,
she'll put it off, procrastinate,
do anything instead.
Of course, the longer she stays up,
the crankier she gets.
She cries and fusses, breaks her toys,
she argues and she frets.
You try to put her jammies on,
it's hard to hold her down.
She'll dance around, then try to hide-
she acts just like a clown.
When you finally catch her,
you have to hold her tight.
Snuggle next to her in bed,
she still puts up a fight.
She'll say, "I want some water
in my little tippy cup."
She finishes her drink
but finds a reason to get up.
First she says "I'm hungry!"-
Then, "Hey, I gotta go."
As soon as she is back in bed,
its 'water' again, you know.
Finally, after bedtime stories
are told and then retold,
Dunkers is tucked in real tight
so she won't get cold.
Then, at last, it's finally time,
we can turn off the light;
give Dunkers a bedtime kiss and say,
"Sweet dreams, Sweetheart, sleep tight."
