Trillium Lake
Oregon

I love this lake.
There are no motor boats allowed, only canoes and kayaks.
It is almost always wonderfully quiet and peaceful.
Nice camping areas too.

My photography class instructor, Jessica, asked about a photo of a drain in the lake.
She wanted to know if it was a Photoshop manipulation. It does look rather surreal.

No manipulation. Just some drains that, I think, keep the water from flowing over the road bridge.

This pump, or whatever it is, probably has something to do with the drains.
It is near them on the shore.

There are trilliums blooming here in the spring. A protected native wildflower.

There is a wonderful trail leading all the way around the lake. It is handicapped access.
Level, smooth trails with boardwalks over any rough patches.

Lots of wildflowers to photograph.

Lots of critters, too.

There are damselflies and dragonflies everywhere.
We have always called this type "sewing needles".

I'm not sure if this branch is burned, or if the odd coloring is caused by something else.

The lighting is often challenging for photography. On a bright sunny day, the paths are heavily shaded, with brilliant beams of light breaking through.

I'll be going back later in the year when the huckleberries are ripe.
