Many versions of Work In Progress
I've added some text on suggestions and tips I got from critiques.
And added yet more versions that I've tried.
Original composition
Too many lines going too many directions. Bad clash between red Kokopelli and bright green lizard.
Elements do not meld at all- they just sit on top of the background.
#1
Horizontal lines in background good- faint enough to work. Still too much stuff and green lizard bad.
#2
Human figures in background overpower focal point (which is already in deep trouble competing with all the other stuff).
#3
This was the wrong direction.
#4
Red leather back is good. Too much other stuff. Green lizard might be OK if you accept him as part of the Kokopelli.
Some of the elements are butted up against each other. Not good- should overlap or have some space between.
#5
Maybe- but I'd have to move the bottom lizard a bit...
#6
hmmmmmmmm...... NO.
Maybe a yes?
*
#7
ummmmmmmm......NO.
#8
minimalize...???
Better.
#9
Need to work on lizard placement.
#10
I made a new lizard to replace the green one.

#11
**
If it's gonna have lizards I think it needs three of them.
#12
This definitely leads your eye- but MY eye wants to abruptly bounce back to the main focal point instead of happily feeling like it's done what it was supposed to do. The line down the center(edge of the inner background piece)is not a good thing either.
#13
I'd need to do something about the line created by the inner background piece...
#14
Maybe if I softened all those lines and edges some way???
#15
I think I like the stones added- but that bisecting line is still a problem...anyway I think it is a problem...
#16
???
#13
.... whimper... I probably need to walk away from this for a few days at least...
